Items can be automatically packed into a predefined Package Unit of Measure and Quantity per Package for added convenience. With the Pack-It action on shipping documents, you can complete this process in a single step.

How automatic packing works

If you standardize your packing operations, you can take advantage of the easy packing functionality. By setting a predefined package and quantity per package on the item card, you can automate the packing process while ensuring accurate dimensions for each package.

For example, if an order includes 5 units of Item A and its setup specifies 2 units per box, the Pack-It easy packing action will automatically create 3 packages:

  • 1 package containing 1 unit
  • 2 packages containing 2 units each

Setting up an item for automatic packing

To setup an item to allow for automatic packing, you must:

  1. Locate and open the Item card you wish to setup or create a new item.
  2. Specify the Package Unit of Measure and Qty. per Package Unit of Measure. These fields are located under the General section of the Item Card.
