How to refund a payment
You can process either a partial or complete refund with Pay-It.
Refunds can only be made to the same Payment Method that was used to make the original payment. If the card has since expired or been cancelled, the refund is handled by the customer’s card issuer and, in most cases, credited to the customer’s new card.
The steps to refund a payment is the same across all documents:
- Open the document to refund.
- Set the Pay-It Applies-to Invoice No.
- Select the same Payment Method that was used to make the payment.
- This will already be set if creating a Corrective Adjustment Note from the Posted Sales Invoice.
- Post the document.
