On the 1st of October, Microsoft officially released Dynamics NAV 2015. The new version is a testament to Microsoft’s continued commitment to their annual release cycle for the product, and offers a number of new standard features, including:
- Simplified Email
- Report Scheduling
- Cash Management Improvements
- MS Word Report Development
- Faster web client
However, most notably, Dynamics NAV 2015 now offers mobile device support via an App available in the Windows Store, iTunes Store, or Play Store for Android. The App is available for download at no cost, and simply consumes existing user sessions.
The App offers an improved tablet and mobile user experience, presenting the familiar stacks and charts in an optimised view, as well as offering drill through capability to the underlying NAV data. Additional development resources have been included to allow simple customisation of existing role centres for presentation through the app interface.
This further extends options for consuming NAV, also possible through a Full Windows Client, Web Client, Office 365, and Sharepoint.
Over the course of the coming weeks, I will post up further information on this, and other new features available with NAV 2015.
