The festive season is upon us again – the team at Fenwick wishes everyone a happy Christmas and an exciting new year ahead.

Our office shuts down on the 19th of December and we are back on the 2nd of January 2020 – and yes, that means we are back up and running with blogs again in early January. If you require any specific support over the Christmas period please make sure you contact us by Thursday so we can plan to be available.

2019 was a busy year of expansion at Fenwick. We’ve grown into a firm with over 40 staff and two branches. We continue to harness Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and pride ourselves on providing a personal, solution-based service.

Here are the highlights:

Opening our first interstate branch

We expanded to sunny Brisbane! Senior Consultant Andrew Lang made the big move to support our existing Brisbane clients, and reach new customers.

Operating from Brisbane, we’ve been able to better support our Queensland Clients…especially with the responsiveness we can provide, with the ease that we can go on-site, rather than needing to schedule an interstate. Building the team has been an exciting challenge that I’m looking forward to continue as well!

The team grows

Embracing fresh ideas and new possibilities, we hired 14 new team members. We employed 5 consultants, 5 developers, and continued our relationship with Swinburne’s BIT program, with IBL student Evan on a 6-month placement.

We also welcomed Emily Feldgen; another student from Swinburne, who has worked with us on 6-month marketing placement. Most recently we welcomed Mark Di Dio who is working as a graduate developer and is initially focused on upgrading our internal system to Business Central. He will also be joining our 2020 indication program. Lastly, we are pleased to announce we’ve hired Tyng Wilde, who will be assisting our admin team.

We farewell Andrew Ferguson

We celebrated Andrew – our “tools and apps king” – and his retirement after 40 years of service! Andrew has been a big part of Fenwick’s history and we are missing him already.

New apps and continued innovation

Our Gold team made new releases this year across the entire Gold eco-system. Our most recent release included 150 improvements, providing extended functionality and better usability.

Our services have also become more tailored with the introduction of new Apps, innovated by our developing team:

  • Pack-It and Ship-It: Our new dispatching duo – together they give an easy way to pack items and choose the most suitable carrier for delivery with integration to SmartFreight.
  • Good Looking Documents: Delivers an improved framework to easily modify all your document layouts in Business Central.
  • Set Up Time Matrix: A tool which generates production setup times, to ensure best use of resource and time.
