Trans Tank International (TTi) specialise in manufacturing polyethylene tanks for liquid transport solutions. Producing the tanks for 20 years, they have become a staple in both the agricultural and industrial marketplace. TTi also offer a diverse range of product that cater to these industries including spraying equipment, firefighting equipment and diesel units.
Their pledge is to give their customers an edge in the field by providing products that represent versatility and value for money.
Business Situation
In 2018 TTi were using Myob Exonet as their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Whilst being a great system for buy-and-sell businesses, they were finding that it lacked in its ability to manage advanced manufacturing.
Another ongoing challenge included managing the shipment of their tanks. Their tank sizes range anywhere from 100L-17000L. The varying sizes presents significant delivery challenges of choosing the right carrier based on key factors of cost, urgency and package dimensions.
At the time TTi were also using a lightly integrated legacy freight system to manage their dispatching process. Operating on outdated and separate systems led to a number of inefficiencies. These included: inability to manage carriers in one central system resulting in duplicate data entry and no option to compare pricing options for different carriers.
TTi needed a new system to continue successfully giving their customers an edge in their field.
Our Solution
TTi partnered with us at Fenwick to provide a solution. We implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to replace their existing ERP. The software provided a platform to manage the requirements of advanced manufacturing.
As a part of our Business Central update we integrated them with our Ship-It solution. Ship-It has provided a new framework to manage delivery of their tanks.
TTi went live with the new system in September 2019 and now all carriers can be managed through the one central system. It’s easy to compare pricing options for carriers with rates loaded in the system and there’s no duplicate data entry.
“Whilst it is early days in the implementation, we feel we are already seeing tangible benefits from the Business Central/SmartFreight integration. We are confident the solution will continue to evolve and become a highly sought-after app for businesses looking to streamline their despatch operations”.
